Agility Robotics<\/a>, creator of the general-purpose robot\u00a0Digit<\/a>\u24c7<\/sup>, today announced that\u00a0Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada<\/a>\u00a0(TMMC) has signed a commercial agreement with the company. After a successful pilot, TMMC plans to deploy Agility\u2019s robot, Digit, in its facilities\u00a0to support employees with manufacturing, supply chain and logistics operations.<\/p>\n

\u201cToyota Motor Manufacturing Canada has long been a leader in automotive manufacturing innovation,\u201d explained Tim Hollander, President, Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada. \u201cAfter evaluating a number of robots, we are excited to deploy Digit to improve the team member experience and further increase operational efficiency in our manufacturing facilities.\u201d<\/p>\n

\"Agility\"In addition to the work Digit is doing today, Agility and TMMC will continue to assess further use cases where robots and AI could help augment automotive production. The companies will explore how automating some extremely repetitive and physically taxing tasks commonly found on automotive manufacturing production lines could reduce strain and increase safety for employees, freeing them to do more value-added work in the production facility.<\/p>\n

TMMC joins a growing number of Fortune 500 companies deploying Agility\u2019s humanoid robots across the globe, including\u00a0GXO<\/a>,\u00a0the world\u2019s largest pure-play contract logistics provider,\u00a0Schaeffler<\/a>, the motion technology company and\u00a0Amazon<\/a>.<\/p>\n
